High-Profile Welcome at PM House

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was accorded a guard of honour at the Prime Minister’s House on Thursday as part of his official two-day visit to Pakistan.

Upon landing at Nur Khan Airbase, he was welcomed by Pakistan’s top leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Grand Reception at the Prime Minister’s House

A formal reception took place at the PM House, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personally welcomed President Erdogan.

• A smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan’s armed forces presented the guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.
• The national anthems of Pakistan and Türkiye were played as part of the ceremony.
• First Lady Aseefa Bhutto, along with senior ministers, including Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, were also present to greet the Turkish leader.

Agenda for the Visit: Strengthening Bilateral Relations

During his stay, President Erdogan and PM Shehbaz Sharif will co-chair the 7th Session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

Key highlights of the visit include:

• Signing of multiple agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to boost cooperation in trade, defense, and investment.
• A bilateral meeting between President Erdogan and Pakistan’s top leadership, including President Zardari and PM Shehbaz Sharif.
• Addressing the Pakistan-Turkiye Business and Investment Forum, where both leaders will engage with leading investors and business figures from both countries.

With growing diplomatic ties and a focus on economic collaboration, the visit is expected to strengthen Pakistan-Turkiye relations significantly.
