England Ends Pakistan’s Title Hopes at World Junior Team Squash Championship

Pakistan’s journey at the World Junior Team Squash Championship 2025 has officially come to a close after a quarter-final defeat at the hands of England. The highly anticipated clash was played in Cairo, where England sealed their semi-final spot with a convincing 2–0 win.

The opening match set the tone for the day. England’s Dylan Roberts displayed complete control as he dispatched Anas Ali Shah in straight games, finishing 11–7, 11–6, 11–5.

Following that, it was Alexander Broadbridge who cemented England’s victory. He overcame Abdullah Nawaz in a tightly contested second match. While Nawaz fought back with brief moments of brilliance, Broadbridge closed the contest 14–12, 11–2, 11–9.

The defeat knocked Pakistan out of contention for the championship title. However, the national side will continue in the classification play-offs, now targeting a fifth-place finish. They are set to face the Czech Republic in the next round.

This year’s tournament in Cairo has featured fierce international competition, and although Pakistan couldn’t advance past the quarter-finals, their squad showed resilience throughout the group stages. Eyes are now on how they conclude their campaign with upcoming classification ties.
