Pakistan, Canada FMs Discuss Trade and Investment Cooperation
Ishaq Dar, Anita Anand reaffirm commitment to boost bilateral economic ties
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Thursday held a telephonic conversation with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, focusing on strengthening bilateral trade, investment, and economic collaboration, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the call, both sides discussed ways to deepen cooperation in key sectors including agriculture, mining, and minerals, while exploring opportunities under the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPPA).
Foreign Minister Anand thanked Pakistan for facilitating market access for Canadian canola exports, which have become a significant component of trade between the two countries.
The two ministers appreciated the recent constructive engagements between Pakistan and Canada and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact to follow up on agreed initiatives and explore new avenues of collaboration.
