Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to ensure the early completion of the long-delayed Parliament Lodges project in Islamabad, emphasizing quality construction and timely delivery.

During his visit to the new block under construction, which has remained incomplete for nearly 13 years, the minister reviewed ongoing development works and issued strict instructions for high construction standards.

According to a report by 24NewsHD TV channel, the minister underscored that no compromise on quality would be tolerated in the finishing of the project, which has been pending since 2012.

He said that with the completion of the long-stalled project, parliamentarians will finally be provided with modern and well-equipped accommodation facilities in the federal capital.

Mohsin Naqvi reaffirmed that all public welfare and infrastructure projects, including the Parliament Lodges, will be completed within the stipulated time frame to ensure efficient use of public resources.

CDA briefed on project timeline

During the visit, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa presented a detailed briefing to the interior minister regarding the project’s progress.

Randhawa assured the minister that the new block of the Parliament Lodges would be completed within the designated schedule.

The meeting was also attended by CDA Member Engineering and other senior officials, who briefed the minister on various technical and structural aspects of the project.

The Parliament Lodges extension, initially launched to accommodate growing housing needs for parliamentarians, has faced multiple delays over the past decade due to administrative and financial hurdles.

Naqvi’s directive aims to accelerate Islamabad’s urban development agenda, ensuring stalled projects are completed efficiently and with long-term sustainability in mind.
