Govt Announces Rs. 13,000 Cash Support for Each Deserving Family Under Ramazan Relief Package

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has unveiled a Rs. 38 billion Ramazan Relief Package aimed at providing direct financial assistance to deserving families across the country. The initiative covers beneficiaries in all four provinces, as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking at the launch ceremony of the PM Ramazan Package 2026, the prime minister emphasized that the funds will be distributed transparently and without discrimination. A total of 1.21 million families are expected to benefit from the program, with each eligible household receiving Rs. 13,000 in financial support.

According to the government’s announcement, the distribution process will be fully digitized. Payments will be transferred directly into beneficiaries’ digital wallets or bank accounts, ensuring efficiency and minimizing the risk of irregularities. The digital model is designed to streamline delivery and prevent delays during the holy month of Ramazan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the relief package is intended to ease the financial burden on low-income households amid rising living costs. He reiterated the government’s commitment to social welfare and economic inclusion, particularly during significant religious occasions when household expenses typically increase.

Officials highlighted that the Rs. 38 billion allocation reflects the administration’s focus on targeted support measures. By using digital financial channels, the government aims to improve transparency and strengthen trust in public assistance programs.

The Ramazan Relief Package 2026 forms part of broader efforts to expand social protection initiatives in Pakistan. Over recent years, authorities have increasingly shifted toward digital payment systems to enhance accountability and ensure that aid reaches intended recipients efficiently.

Analysts note that direct cash transfers have proven effective in providing immediate relief to vulnerable segments of society. By granting Rs. 13,000 per family, the government hopes to support basic household needs during Ramazan while reinforcing its commitment to equitable economic policies.

The announcement marks a significant welfare initiative ahead of the holy month, signaling the administration’s focus on inclusive support and digital governance reforms.
