Punjab University Announces Eid ul Fitr 2026 and Spring Recess Schedule

University of the Punjab has officially released its holiday schedule for Eid ul Fitr 2026 along with the spring recess plan, providing clarity for students, faculty members, and administrative staff across its campuses.

According to a formal notification issued by the Registrar’s Office, the university will remain completely closed from Friday, March 20 to Monday, March 23, 2026, in observance of Eid ul Fitr. During these four days, all academic and administrative operations will be suspended.

The closure applies to teaching departments, institutes, centers, constituent colleges, affiliated schools, and administrative offices. No classes, examinations, or official activities will take place during the Eid holidays.

Immediately after Eid, the university will observe its spring recess from Tuesday, March 24 to Friday, March 27, 2026. This break will specifically apply to academic units, including departments, institutes, and colleges, allowing students and faculty members additional time off following the festive holidays.

Academic activities and regular classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, March 30, 2026. Students are advised to ensure they are prepared to return to campus as per the announced academic calendar.

However, the notification highlights an important operational detail. While teaching departments will remain closed during the spring recess, administrative staff will resume their duties starting March 24, 2026. This arrangement is intended to maintain continuity in official matters, documentation, and academic planning ahead of the reopening.

The holiday schedule has been issued under the signature of Registrar Dr. Ahmed Islam and formally circulated to relevant departments and university officials for strict compliance.

Students and staff members are encouraged to plan their travel and personal commitments in accordance with the announced dates. The university administration has emphasized that all academic and institutional operations will proceed as scheduled once the break concludes.

The announcement provides much-needed clarity for thousands of students enrolled at Punjab University, ensuring that both religious observance and academic responsibilities are balanced effectively.
