Pakistan Expands Hajj 2026 Flight Operations with New Lahore Route
Pakistan is set to enhance its pilgrimage travel operations for 2026 by introducing a new flight route from Lahore to Saudi Arabia. The move is aimed at improving accessibility and convenience for thousands of pilgrims preparing for Hajj next year.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf confirmed that Hajj 2026 flight operations will officially begin on April 18. The announcement was made during his conversation with PTV News in Riyadh, where he outlined the government’s preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage season.
The introduction of the Lahore-to-Saudi Arabia route is expected to ease travel for pilgrims, particularly those from central and northern regions of the country. By expanding departure points, authorities aim to streamline logistics and reduce travel burdens for participants.
According to officials, comprehensive arrangements have been finalized to accommodate approximately 180,000 پاکستانی pilgrims for Hajj 2026. Of these, 120,000 individuals will perform Hajj under the government scheme, while 60,000 will travel through private tour operators.
Importantly, the minister emphasized that these arrangements have been completed without imposing any additional financial burden on pilgrims. This reflects the government’s commitment to facilitating a smooth and affordable Hajj experience despite rising global travel and accommodation costs.
The expansion of flight operations is part of broader efforts to improve pilgrimage management, including better coordination, enhanced services, and efficient scheduling. With preparations already in place, authorities are focused on ensuring a seamless journey for all pilgrims from departure to return.
Hajj remains one of the largest annual religious gatherings in the world, and Pakistan continues to be among the leading contributors in terms of pilgrim numbers. Initiatives like new flight routes are expected to further strengthen the country’s ability to manage large-scale travel operations effectively.
As the departure date approaches, pilgrims are advised to stay updated with official announcements and guidelines to ensure a hassle-free travel experience.
