Pakistan has received encouraging recognition in the latest Numbeo Crime Index 2026 Mid-Year rankings, with Islamabad emerging as the country’s safest city and Lahore also securing a strong position among cities worldwide. The report indicates that both Pakistani cities have lower perceived crime levels than several well-known international metropolitan areas.

According to the latest data released by Numbeo, Islamabad recorded a Crime Index score of 30.8, making it the safest major city in Pakistan included in the survey. Lahore followed with a score of 36.2, while Rawalpindi recorded 52.0 and Karachi stood at 57.6.

The Numbeo Crime Index is based on user-contributed surveys that measure public perceptions of crime and safety across more than 400 cities worldwide.
