RDA Seals Multiple Apartments Over Alleged Illegal Commercial Activities
The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken action against alleged unauthorized commercial activities at Mid City Apartments located along Service Road in Mouza Gangal.
An RDA enforcement team carried out an operation at the apartment complex on Saturday, sealing several properties that were reportedly being used for commercial purposes without the required authorization.
The operation was conducted with assistance from Punjab Police personnel from Dhoke Lalyal Police Chowki and Airport Police Station. The joint action was aimed at enforcing regulations governing land use and commercial activities in the area.
According to the details, the enforcement action focused on commercial activities that had allegedly been established in violation of the applicable rules and approvals.
The RDA regularly takes enforcement measures against unauthorized construction, illegal commercial use and violations of approved building plans in Rawalpindi. Such actions are intended to ensure that properties are used according to their approved purposes.
Apartment complexes are generally developed for residential use, and unauthorized conversion of residential spaces into commercial establishments can create concerns related to traffic, parking, safety and pressure on existing infrastructure.
The operation at Mid City Apartments highlights the authority’s continued focus on addressing land-use violations and regulating commercial activities within residential developments.
The involvement of Punjab Police provided support to the enforcement team during the operation. Cooperation between development authorities and law enforcement agencies can help officials carry out regulatory actions where resistance or security concerns may arise.
Mouza Gangal is among the areas experiencing development and increasing urban activity around Rawalpindi. As residential communities expand, authorities face the challenge of maintaining proper planning standards while dealing with unauthorized changes in property use.
The RDA’s action may also serve as a warning to property owners and businesses operating without the necessary approvals. Commercial use of residential properties without permission can result in enforcement proceedings and sealing actions.
Authorities are expected to continue monitoring areas where unauthorized commercial activities are reported. Property owners and businesses are generally required to obtain the relevant approvals before changing the designated use of a property.
The latest operation demonstrates the importance of following approved land-use regulations in Rawalpindi. Enforcement actions such as the sealing of unauthorized commercial spaces are aimed at maintaining planned development and ensuring that residential projects remain compliant with approved regulations.
