LESCO Announces Six-Hour Power Shutdown on Sunday

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced a six-hour electricity shutdown affecting two feeders in Lahore on Sunday, September 20, due to essential development work linked to the Data Darbar and Kacheri Road projects.

According to LESCO, the temporary suspension of power supply will affect consumers connected to the Urdu Bazaar and Kacheri Road feeders operating from the Bhatti Gate Grid Station.

Electricity supply from the two feeders will remain suspended from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, as LESCO carries out the required work.

Residents and businesses in areas receiving electricity through the affected feeders may experience a temporary interruption during the scheduled shutdown period.

LESCO has said the outage is necessary because of work associated with the Data Darbar and Kacheri Road projects. Such planned shutdowns are generally carried out to allow technical and development activities to be completed safely on the electricity network.

Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to make arrangements ahead of the scheduled interruption, particularly those operating businesses or using electrical equipment that requires an uninterrupted power supply.

The six-hour suspension is expected to remain limited to the areas supplied by the Urdu Bazaar and Kacheri Road feeders connected to the Bhatti Gate Grid Station.

Planned power interruptions are often scheduled by electricity distribution companies when maintenance, infrastructure upgrades or development projects require temporary isolation of electricity supply.

For households, offices and commercial establishments in the affected areas, the announced timing means electricity services could remain unavailable throughout the morning and early afternoon on September 20.

The shutdown is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m., after which electricity supply is expected to resume following completion of the required work.

Consumers can plan their daily activities accordingly and take necessary precautions before the shutdown begins.

The announcement is particularly relevant for residents and businesses located around the areas supplied by the affected feeders, as the temporary outage may impact normal activities during the six-hour period.

LESCO’s scheduled shutdown is connected to ongoing work for the Data Darbar and Kacheri Road projects, making the affected feeders part of the temporary power suspension arrangement.

Consumers who depend on electricity for essential household, commercial or office operations may wish to prepare backup arrangements for the duration of the announced outage.
