Kane Williamson hopes Pakistan will not hold any grudges over New Zealand abandoning a tour on security fears last month.
A few weeks ago cricket match was scheduled between New Zealand and Pakistan in Rawalpindi. But the Newzealand team backed out of its tour in Pakistan at the last moment. The reason told was that some security threats why they didn’t visit Pakistan. But the fact was that highly security plans were ascertained. This scenario plopped a question mark on the reputation of the whole country and its security system.
But now as the T20 world cup matches have started and Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in the first match. New Zealand team Captain congratulated team Pakistan and admitted the decision to abandon the tour was based on New Zealand government advice.
“I suppose the focus now is here at the T20 World Cup, and no doubt after the performance last night, Pakistan have some momentum and are feeling pretty good about their cricket,” said Williamson.
Furthermore, He also praised the Pakistani cricket team saying,
