Ramadan and Eid 2025 Dates Revealed by PMD
When Will Ramadan Begin in Pakistan?
With the arrival of Rajab, preparations for Ramadan are already underway in Pakistan. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has projected the sighting of the Ramadan crescent on February 28 or March 1, 2025. If confirmed, the first fast will be observed on March 1, 2025, Saturday.
Understanding Ramadan’s Importance
Ramadan is more than just a month of fasting. It is a sacred time for Muslims to strengthen their faith, practice self-discipline, and engage in acts of charity. The fast from dawn to dusk is accompanied by increased prayers, Quranic recitations, and a focus on personal and spiritual betterment.
Eid-ul-Fitr Predictions for 2025
As Ramadan draws to a close, the Shawwal moon will determine the date of Eid-ul-Fitr. PMD forecasts suggest that the crescent may be visible on March 29 or 30, making Eid likely to be celebrated on March 30 or 31.
Eid-ul-Fitr is marked by communal prayers, lavish meals, and the giving of alms, symbolizing gratitude and unity. It is a cherished occasion for Muslims to come together and celebrate the blessings of Ramadan.
Moon-Sighting and Tradition in Pakistan
While PMD provides scientific estimates, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is responsible for the official moon-sighting declaration in Pakistan. Their role ensures that Islamic traditions are upheld, fostering unity in religious observance.
