Govt Employees to Receive February Salaries in Advance

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced early disbursement of salaries and pensions for all government employees and retirees on February 28, 2025.

This decision comes as part of efforts to support employees ahead of Ramadan, ensuring they have sufficient financial resources before the holy month begins.

Reason Behind the Early Payment

With March 1 and 2 being official holidays, the KP government has advanced salary distribution by a day. This will allow:

• Timely purchasing of Ramadan essentials.
• Financial relief for families preparing for the fasting period.
• More flexibility for donations and charity before the holy month.

Ramadan 2025: Expected Start Date & Moon Sighting Details

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), there is a strong chance that the Ramadan moon will be visible on March 1, 2025.

If confirmed, the first fast will be observed on March 2 (Sunday). To finalize the announcement, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Peshawar on February 28.

Ramadan: A Month of Spiritual Discipline

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and is marked by:

• Fasting from dawn till dusk, refraining from food, drink, and harmful speech.
• Engagement in worship, including Quran recitation and night prayers (Taraweeh).
• Charitable giving, supporting the underprivileged through Zakat and donations.
