PM Shehbaz Sharif Meets Kuwaiti Crown Prince in New York, Reaffirms Historic Ties

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, currently in New York for the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held a significant bilateral meeting on Tuesday with Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah. The meeting highlighted the deep-rooted and brotherly ties that Pakistan and Kuwait have nurtured over decades.

The prime minister conveyed his heartfelt respect and good wishes for the Emir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He noted that Pakistan and Kuwait have always stood by each other in times of need, extending gratitude to the Crown Prince for Kuwait’s solidarity and assistance during Pakistan’s recent devastating floods.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction with the progress made in bilateral cooperation and emphasized Pakistan’s eagerness to further strengthen relations in diverse sectors. He identified trade, investment, agriculture, livestock, manpower export, and healthcare as priority areas where both nations could collaborate for mutual benefit.

The prime minister also extended an invitation for the Kuwaiti Crown Prince to visit Pakistan later this year. According to diplomatic sources, the visit is being finalized through official channels and is expected to further cement the growing partnership.

Regional and international issues were also discussed during the meeting, with a focus on the situation in the Middle East. The Crown Prince praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in exposing atrocities against Palestinians and acknowledged the country’s constructive role in advocating for peace in the region.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continue working closely, not only bilaterally but also through multilateral platforms, to strengthen cooperation and address shared challenges. The meeting served as a reminder of the enduring brotherhood between Pakistan and Kuwait and their shared vision for regional stability and prosperity.
