Mohsin Naqvi Pledges Full Support for Annual Tableeghi Ijtema Preparations
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the upcoming annual Tableeghi Ijtema, one of the largest religious congregations in Pakistan, scheduled to take place in November.
During a high-level meeting held in Islamabad, Naqvi met with a delegation of the Tableeghi Jamaat to review arrangements for the grand event and ensure smooth coordination among all relevant departments. The delegation included prominent members Anwar Ghani, Iqbal Mian, Muhammad Aamir, and Zahid Pracha.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, along with the Chief Commissioner and Inspector General of Islamabad, also attended the meeting. The discussions focused on administrative preparations, international facilitation, and security measures to ensure the successful organization of the gathering.
Minister Naqvi assured the delegation that the Ministry of Interior would extend full cooperation to make the event successful and secure for both domestic and international attendees. He emphasized that special assistance would be provided to foreign participants, particularly in visa processing and airport facilitation.
“As in previous years, dedicated counters will be set up at major airports to assist international guests,” Naqvi said. “Ensuring ease for those engaged in religious preaching is our duty and a source of spiritual reward.”
The Tableeghi Jamaat representatives expressed gratitude to the government for its continued support. They noted that last year’s congregation saw participation from more than 15,000 international attendees representing 108 countries, highlighting the global significance of the annual Ijtema.
The meeting concluded with a special prayer for Pakistan’s peace, prosperity, and the well-being of flood-affected communities across the country. Officials reaffirmed that preparations would be closely monitored to ensure all logistical and security arrangements are completed well before the event.
The Tableeghi Ijtema remains one of the most prominent Islamic gatherings in the region, known for promoting peace, unity, and spiritual reflection among Muslims from around the world. With the government’s continued cooperation, this year’s event is expected to host an even larger turnout, further strengthening Pakistan’s role as a hub for global religious engagement.
