PEC, NADRA Sign MoU to Boost Digital Transformation and ICT Cooperation

Partnership aims to enhance e-governance, transparency, and service delivery

The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to strengthen collaboration in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and accelerate digital transformation initiatives across PEC’s operations.

The agreement focuses on introducing modern, technology-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency, transparency, and e-governance, while fostering institutional innovation and service excellence.

The Registrar PEC, Engr. Khadim Hussain Bhatti, and Chief Projects NADRA, Mr. Rehman Qamar, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. The ceremony was attended by Chairman PEC, Engr. Waseem Nazir, and Chairman NADRA, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Munir Afsar, HI(M), along with senior officials from both sides.

NADRA to support PEC’s digital transformation

Under the terms of the MoU, NADRA will:

  • Provide technical operations management and hosting services for PEC’s data;
  • Offer technical application development support to enhance PEC’s digital systems;
  • Assist in digitizing PEC’s election processes through secure and transparent systems.

Both organizations will also collaborate through knowledge-sharing initiatives, joint research projects, and data-driven innovation to strengthen Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.

“This strategic cooperation marks a major milestone in PEC’s modernization journey towards a fully digital ecosystem,” said Chairman PEC, Engr. Waseem Nazir.
“It will ensure transparent, efficient, and secure systems aligned with 21st-century governance and service excellence.”

A step toward Smart PEC

The partnership underscores PEC’s commitment to building a “Smart PEC” — a digitally empowered, efficient, and globally connected platform for engineers and stakeholders.

By leveraging NADRA’s expertise in secure data management and digital infrastructure, PEC aims to streamline service delivery, improve accessibility for registered engineers, and strengthen public trust in institutional governance.

“This MoU is a testament to PEC’s vision of innovation, transparency, and sustainability in Pakistan’s engineering sector,” Chairman Nazir added.
