China Reaffirms Support for Pakistan Against Terrorism Amid Security Concerns

China has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Pakistan in combating terrorism, following a key meeting between Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The discussions focused on the security situation in Balochistan and recent terrorist attacks targeting citizens and security forces.

Ambassador Zedong strongly condemned the attacks, offering condolences to affected families and expressing China’s solidarity with the victims. He emphasized that China opposes all forms of terrorism and stands firmly with Pakistan in its ongoing fight against violent extremism.

The meeting highlighted the strength of the Pak-China partnership and the shared commitment to counterterrorism through coordinated efforts. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the interior secretary, special secretary, and senior officials from the Chinese Embassy also participated, contributing to detailed discussions on internal security and broader cooperation strategies.

Interior Minister Naqvi described the terrorist incidents in Balochistan as premeditated and well-organized. He briefed the ambassador on the swift and effective response by Pakistan’s security forces, which prevented further damage and safeguarded key interests.

Ensuring the safety of Chinese citizens and Chinese-funded projects remains a top priority for Pakistan. Naqvi announced the formation of a Special Protection Unit specifically dedicated to the security of Chinese nationals. He also noted that integrating modern Chinese technology and equipment would significantly strengthen Pakistan’s counterterrorism operations.

Both countries agreed to enhance collaboration in intelligence sharing and the fight against cybercrime. The meeting concluded with a commitment to maintain close coordination, further strengthening internal security measures and countering emerging terrorist threats.

This reaffirmation of mutual support underscores the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, demonstrating that both nations remain united against terrorism and committed to protecting their citizens and shared interests.
