The Punjab government has unveiled a Rs. 5.903 trillion budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, outlining an ambitious roadmap aimed at accelerating economic growth, improving public services, and strengthening digital governance across the province.

The proposed budget places significant emphasis on education, healthcare, infrastructure development, industrial growth, and social welfare. In a move to encourage industrial diversification and value-added production, the government has announced incentives for the minerals sector, including measures to support value addition for resources such as pink salt. Officials believe that processing and exporting higher-value mineral products can contribute to increased revenue generation and economic growth.
