Shaheen Shah Afridi 18th Pakistani bowler to take 100 test wickets

Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the 18th Pakistani bowler to take 100 test wickets. He reached this milestone against Srilanka at Galle, where he dismissed Nishan Madushka for 4 in the first innings of the first test match.

Afridi, who made his test debut in 2018, has been a consistent performer for Pakistan in all formats of the game. He is known for his pace, swing, and accuracy, and has troubled many top batsmen around the world.

Afridi has taken 100 wickets in just 26 test matches, with an average of 24.28 and a strike rate of 48.9. He has four five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket haul in his test career so far. His best figures are 6/51 against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui in 2020.

Afridi has joined an elite club of Pakistani bowlers who have taken 100 or more test wickets, including legends like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Imran Khan, Abdul Qadir and Saqlain Mushtaq. He is also the fourth left-arm fast bowler from Pakistan to achieve this feat, after Wasim Akram, Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz.

Afridi is one of the most promising young talents in world cricket today. He has a bright future ahead of him and will surely continue to make Pakistan proud with his performances.
