Pakistan Announces New Petrol and Diesel Prices

The caretaker federal government of Pakistan has announced a reduction in the prices of diesel and kerosene oil, while keeping the petrol price unchanged.

The new price of diesel is Rs296.71 per litre, a reduction of Rs7 per litre from the previous price. Kerosene oil now costs Rs204.98 per litre, a reduction of Rs3.82 per litre. The price of light-speed diesel (LSD) has also been reduced by Rs4.52 per litre to Rs180.45 per litre.

The government has decided to keep the petrol price at Rs281.34 per litre.

The price reductions come after a series of increases in recent months. In mid-October, the government had increased the price of petrol by Rs40 per litre, while the price of diesel had been increased by Rs15 per litre.

The government has said that the price reductions are due to a decrease in the international price of oil.

The new prices will be effective from December 1, 2023.
