Shehbaz Sharif Lays Foundation of First Daanish School in AJK

A Landmark Initiative in Bhimber

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the first Daanish School Science and Technology Center of Excellence in Bhimber, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), on Wednesday. The project aims to revolutionize education for talented children from underserved regions of the country.

Transforming Education for Underserved Communities

Highlighting the origins of the Daanish Schools, PM Shehbaz credited Nawaz Sharif for envisioning these institutions to serve children in underdeveloped areas of Punjab. He noted that thousands of students from Daanish Schools are now contributing to key sectors, demonstrating the success of this initiative.

World-Class Facilities for Bright Futures

The Daanish Schools provide students with free education, meals, and boarding. PM Shehbaz announced that separate campuses for boys and girls will be constructed to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment. He also directed that the school in Bhimber be completed and operational within one year.

Expansion Plans Across Regions

In addition to Bhimber, PM Shehbaz revealed plans to build Daanish Schools in Neelum Valley and other parts of AJK. Similar projects will also be launched in Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tribal districts to ensure access to quality education nationwide.

Nationwide Efforts for Education and Peace

The prime minister acknowledged the ongoing sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces in their fight against terrorism, noting the economic losses caused by unrest. He reiterated the commitment of both the federal government and provincial administrations to enhance education and healthcare services across the country.

Stakeholder Support and Local Impact

Anwarul Haq, the Prime Minister of AJK, commended PM Shehbaz for initiating this transformative project, calling it a significant milestone for the region. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Amir Muqam, confirmed that four Daanish Schools will be established in AJK, while other leaders and dignitaries present expressed their appreciation for the initiative.
