The Punjab government has taken a historic initiative by launching the Apni Zameen Apna Ghar scheme. The project aims to provide free residential plots to eligible citizens, ensuring housing opportunities for the underprivileged.

The first phase involves the distribution of 2,000 plots across 19 districts.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet specific criteria:

Basic Requirements

• Must hold permanent Punjab residency confirmed by CNIC.
• Application must be for a scheme located in the applicant’s home district.
• No ownership of any residential property nationwide by the applicant, spouse, or children.
• Must maintain a clean criminal record.
• No history of loan defaults with banks or financial institutions.

Plot Allotment Rules

Building and Usage

• Construction must commence within six months of receiving possession.
• Construction completion deadline is two years after plot handover.
• Plots are strictly for residential use; commercial activities are forbidden.

Ownership Rules

• Plots cannot be sold, leased, or transferred for five years.
• Violations will result in plot cancellation without compensation.

Inspections and Disputes

• PHATA will inspect construction progress.
• Disputes will be resolved by PHATA’s Grievance Redressal Committee.

Regional Plot Distribution

• Rawalpindi Division: 658 plots across five schemes
• Faisalabad Division: 288 plots in four districts
• Lahore Region: 518 plots for three districts
• Bhakkar Region: 131 plots across seven schemes
• Multan Region: 270 plots across five districts
• Bahawalpur Region: 27 plots distributed in three schemes
