Mohsin Naqvi Urges Capital Elite Police to Prioritize Response Time During Islamabad Visit

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, visited the Capital Elite Police Training Center in Islamabad on Saturday, emphasizing the importance of improving the operational readiness and response time of the city’s elite force. The visit highlighted the government’s continued focus on strengthening law enforcement capabilities amid growing concerns over terrorism and extremism.

During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi reviewed the performance of the Capital Elite Training Course as well as the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Course. The ministers observed physical exercises, including rappelling drills, and inspected the overall training facilities available at the center.

The Interior Minister met with officers and instructors, commending their professional skills and dedication. He praised the trainees for their abilities and encouraged further enhancement of both training quality and operational efficiency. “The Elite Training School will play an important role in enhancing the capabilities of the security forces,” he said, underlining the strategic significance of the facility.

Mohsin Naqvi stressed that improving the response time of the elite force is crucial for tackling terrorism and extremist threats effectively. He directed that additional attention be given to practical exercises, tactical drills, and firing skills to ensure that personnel are fully prepared for high-stakes operations.

IGP Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi briefed the Interior Minister on ongoing training activities, security arrangements, and operational preparedness at the training center. Officials highlighted that the curriculum is designed to strengthen tactical, technical, and field skills, with special focus on rapid deployment and decision-making under pressure.

The visit was attended by the Interior Secretary, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, DIGs, and other senior police officers. The presence of top leadership reinforced the commitment to maintaining high standards in law enforcement training and readiness.

The engagement reflects the government’s broader efforts to modernize and professionalize Pakistan’s police forces, ensuring that elite units remain capable of responding efficiently to security challenges in the capital and beyond.
