Pakistan is expected to experience dry weather across most regions tonight, while very cold temperatures will persist in the country’s hilly and northern areas.
According to the latest forecast, smog and light fog are likely to affect several parts of Punjab, especially during early morning and nighttime hours.
In Islamabad and nearby regions, dry conditions will dominate on Tuesday. The federal capital will continue to see cold mornings and nights, although daytime temperatures may remain relatively mild. Residents are advised to prepare for chilly winds during the late evening.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also remain mainly dry, with most districts experiencing stable weather throughout the day. However, the province’s mountainous zones are expected to feel the strongest impact of the cold wave, particularly in the morning and at night when temperatures drop significantly.
Punjab is forecast to remain dry across most districts. The popular hill stations of Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas will continue to record colder-than-usual conditions. Smog remains a concern in the plains, including Lahore, Faisalabad, and adjacent regions. Light fog may also develop overnight, reducing visibility and affecting travel during early hours.
In Balochistan, dry weather will persist across most districts. Northern Balochistan will experience very cold temperatures, with several cities likely to see sub-zero conditions during the night. Quetta, Ziarat, and Kalat may experience harsher cold compared to other regions.
Dry conditions will also prevail throughout Sindh, with Karachi and interior Sindh expecting clear skies. While temperatures are likely to remain relatively moderate compared to the northern regions, nights may feel cooler in several parts of the province.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to remain dry and cold. These mountainous areas will continue to record some of the lowest temperatures in the region. Very cold morning and night conditions are likely to continue as the winter season strengthens.
Minimum temperatures recorded on Monday highlight the intensity of the cold spell. Skardu dropped to -7°C, while Leh recorded -4°C. Babusar and Gilgit registered -3°C. Gupis, Astore, and Quetta all reached -2°C, reflecting the widespread cold across northern and western Pakistan.
As temperatures continue to fall, authorities urge citizens to take precautions, especially during nighttime travel in fog-prone areas.
